Fielding
Engineering firms, primes and our own engineers design from pole data collected in Katapult Pro, Fulcrum and IKE by field teams Waldron manages. Each pole comes back with calibrated photos, attachment heights, pole tags, midspans, anchors and GPS. Every job passes a quality-control review while the team is still in the area, so missing data is caught before demobilization.
Overview
Pole data collection complete enough to design from in one visit.
The subcontract field teams Waldron manages work in Katapult Pro, Fulcrum, and IKE to collect accurate, design-ready data for telecommunications. We are Tier 1 Certified in Katapult Pro. Each pole, midspan and crossover is documented with calibrated photos, attachment heights, measurements, and detailed field notes so designers have the information they need to complete their work accurately and efficiently. Our goal is to support engineering firms, contractors, and telecommunications providers with dependable field data that minimizes rework, eliminates return site visits, and keeps projects moving from fielding through design.
What this covers
Scope of the work.
Pole data collection
Each pole is documented with calibrated photos, measured attachment heights, pole tags, ownership information, and available birthmark data, including pole height, class, year, and treatment.
Midspan and crossover data
Midspans and crossovers can be captured based on project needs, whether that means every location or only those required for design. Each midspan/crossover is calibrated, with attachments clearly identified for accurate make-ready and engineering review.
Anchors and guying
Anchors and guying attachments are documented to support pole-loading analysis, including anchor size, guy attachment details, and lead length. Field conditions are captured clearly to provide the information needed for accurate loading calculations and design review.
GPS location and route mapping
Each pole is documented with its GPS position, along with the route and connectivity between poles. Pole-to-pole connections are mapped to provide a clear representation of the existing network path and support accurate design, permitting, and construction planning.
Quality control
Every job undergoes a strict quality-control review before handoff to the client. Missing data and missed, dark, blurry, or otherwise unusable photos are identified while field crews are still in the area, allowing corrections to be made before demobilization and reducing the need for costly return visits.
Field documentation
Field data is collected and organized to provide designers and engineers with the information needed to evaluate existing conditions, complete make-ready analysis, and reduce the need for return site visits.

Common questions
Common questions.
Can you field a job another firm will design?
Yes. Fielding is available on its own. Data is delivered in Katapult Pro, Fulcrum or IKE, whichever your design team works in.
Who does the fielding?
Field teams that Waldron manages do the field engineering on site. Waldron’s own engineers design from the data in house.
What does a make-ready survey capture?
Calibrated photos, attachment heights, pole tags, ownership and birthmark data (height, class, year and treatment), midspans and crossovers as the project needs them, anchors and guying, and the GPS position of each pole.
How do you check field data before delivery?
Every job gets a quality-control review before handoff. Missing data and unusable photos are found while the field team is still in the area, so they are fixed before demobilization.
What software do you collect in?
Katapult Pro, Fulcrum and IKE. We are Tier 1 Certified in Katapult Pro. We also develop our own software in house and tailor it to each client, so collection stays efficient and the data stays accurate from the first pole through final delivery.
Where do you field?
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. We travel for the right job.
