Cable operators & MSOs
Hardline splicing, node splits and fiber deep upgrades on HFC plant run through crews Waldron manages, aerial and underground. When an MSO splits a node, one Waldron-managed job places the fiber to the new node and reconfigures the coax beyond it.
Overview
We still take both coax and fiber work.
Waldron has worked in coax since 1982, starting with hardline for cable operators building out metro Atlanta. When operators moved to hybrid fiber-coax and then pushed fiber deeper, we added fusion splicing and OSP engineering.
On a node split, crews we manage place the fiber to the new node and reconfigure the coax beyond it.
What we carry
Scope of the work.
Hardline & drop splicing
Trunk, feeder and drop splicing and connectorization, pedestal and vault work, and repair on plant already carrying traffic.
Node splits & fiber deep
Fiber placed and spliced to the new node location, coax reconfigured beyond it, and the plant returned to service.
Aerial & underground rebuild
Strand and lash, overlash, pole transfers, boring and trenching for plant replacement and expansion.
Contract maintenance
Ongoing maintenance held under agreement, on aerial and underground plant alike.
Storm & emergency restoration
Outage and cut response by Waldron-managed crews.
Common questions
Common questions.
Do you still splice coaxial hardline?
Yes. Coaxial hardline splicing is active work at Waldron, alongside fiber. Both plant types are handled by crews that Waldron manages.
Can you handle node splits and fiber deep upgrades?
Yes. Crews Waldron manages place and splice the fiber to the new node and reconfigure the coax beyond it.
Do you offer contract maintenance for HFC plant?
Yes. Waldron holds ongoing maintenance agreements and also responds to emergency and storm work as it comes.
What geography do you cover for MSO work?
Engineering and fielding cover Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Construction, maintenance and splicing run within about 200 miles of Marietta, Georgia, a day’s drive. Any service, anywhere in the continental US, is considered case by case for the right project. Send us the scope.
