Outside plant, engineered in house and built by crews we manage.

We engineer OSP routes in house, and Waldron-managed crews field, build, splice and maintain them. We work as a subcontractor to primes and engineering firms, and as prime contractor for owners.

Since 1982

4 OSP disciplines

Engineering and fielding

Engineering in house, on field data from crews we manage.

OSP engineering

Waldron’s engineers work in house on route layouts, make-ready recommendations, NESC clearance review and as-built drawings, for primes, engineering firms and owners.

OSP engineering

Fielding

Field teams Waldron manages collect pole data in Katapult Pro, Fulcrum and IKE. Every job passes a quality-control review while the team is still in the area.

Fielding

Owner-operated

The owners are on every job.

Waldron’s owners estimate the work, plan it, run it in the field and sign off the closeout. Between them they bring more than 75 years of field and office experience.

What we build

Outside plant across the Southeast.

The scope runs from route design, make-ready, permitting and fielding through aerial and underground construction, boring, splicing, testing, turn-up, as-builts and maintenance. Waldron engineers it in house and manages the crews for the rest from the yard in Marietta, so one company answers for every phase and the schedule.

Since 1982, Waldron has done every step of OSP work itself, from fielding and engineering to permitting and construction. Today engineering stays in house, and the field work runs through crews we manage.

How it works

Four steps from first call to as-builts.

  1. P-01

    Consultation

We walk the scope with you: footage, splice counts, access, permits, and the date it has to be live.

  2. P-02

    Survey & design

We survey the route, assess make-ready and issue a build package that the crew and the inspector both work from.

  3. P-03

    Construction & splicing

Subcontract crews place, splice and terminate, and report production daily. A Waldron foreman stays on site and answers for the work directly.

  4. P-04

    Commissioning & support

We deliver test results and as-built redlines, and a maintenance agreement if you want one.
